The 6 Best Ways to Grow Instagram Followers

There are many ways to grow Instagram followers but some aren’t effective as other and some tactics will just hurt your page in the long run. Buying Instagram followers is one of them. Today, I run several Instagram pages. The smallest Instagram account has 30K+ and the largest 400K followers.

In this article, I will let you in on some of my secrets to increasing the number of followers you have on Instagram that have proven to be very effective for both me and a lot of other people out there.

In this article, I have personally hand-picked The 6 Best Ways to Grow Instagram Followers. Let’s get started.

1.Engage with your targeted audience

If you want consistent engagement and growth then you’re going to have to spend a fair bit of time on Instagram- there are no shortcuts here. Unless you are a celebrity or famous on other social media platforms, then you’ll have a bit of a head start since you can redirect your followers to Instagram. If that is not the case, however, then engaging with your audience is a great way to build connections, increase your engagement, and most important of all,  gain followers.

You should always engage with people that share a similar type of photos as you and have a similar niche or interest. Shortly summarized- people that you have something uncommon with. This is because these are the ones that are most likely to start following you and also engage with your page since the actually WANT to see what you are posting, apart from when spam-following/liking/commenting.

If you don’t know where to find people to engage with, a good place is by simply searching for a hashtag that is relevant to what you are posting, because this is where you are most likely to find your target audience. If you for example post pictures of sports’ cars, searching the hashtag #Lamborghini is a great place to start.

You can also go to a larger account, for example, Lamborghini’s official account (if you are posting sports’  cars’) and find the people who are following that account. Like/comment on posts and follow people who you legitimately want to see more of. By doing so you’ll naturally attract people to your page and if you post quality content that they’re interested in they’ll more than likely follow you.

2.Quality over quantity

This is a quote that you should live by on Instagram. 3-5 posts a day is seen as the ideal posting amount for maximum growth so make sure you stick to that rule. Remember: You should also post consistently on Instagram in order to maximize your growth.

If you don’t post over a long period of time, people might think that you have quit and sometimes unfollow you- and this will surely not help you grow your page. In order to grow your account, post very high quality and interesting content that makes people interested. This is probably the most important thing to remember because the main reason people choose to follow an account is that they have a great feed, so make sure that is one of your highest priorities.

3.Use hashtags

Always make sure to use hashtags. Hashtags are like handing out flyers for your post. The more hashtags you use- the bigger reach you will have. The more relevant your hashtags are- the bigger interest people will have. Instagram allows 30 hashtags on a post, so why not use it?

A mistake a lot of people make is to put all 30 hashtags in the caption of a photo or video and this is a big no-no. Placing the hashtags in the caption only makes your post look like spam and a lot of people will scroll past your post. Instead, place your tags in the first comment of your post right after you have posted. This way, after you’ve gotten a few comments, they will only be visible if you scroll to the top of the comments- meaning they won’t disturb anyone.

The only exception is if you put your hashtags in your caption and then separate them from the rest of the caption, making them end up far down in your caption.

4.Shoutouts

A shoutout is basically another page posting a post, saying something like “Follow my friend @Youraccount for great posts”. This will usually give you some new followers that came from the account that shouted you out.

There are several ways to get a shoutout but the most common is a so-called shoutout for shoutout where you give an account a shoutout and the other account gives you a shoutout. It is however important that the pages have a similar amount of followers since otherwise, only the small account will gain from it. Another way of getting shoutouts is by simply paying larger accounts to shout you out.

5.Respond to comments & show interest

Make sure you reply to comments and show consistent interest in other people’s pages. You want to build a good relationship with your audience and get yourself known within your niche. This can only be achieved by building trust and showing that you care about them. This way, you’ll also make people talk about your page and can in that way gain you followers.

6.Giveaways

Oh, the good old giveaways. Giveaways have existed for a long time and there is no reason they would disappear anytime soon. This is simply because they are so effective and bring in great ROI- if done correctly of course. There is very little point in arranging a giveaway if you only have a few followers but once you have grown a bit, giveaways are perfect in order to grow your page. Make the rules of entry to follow your page and tag a few friends in your post where you announce the giveaway.

There is a huge chance that their friends will join as well, given that you have a great prize for the winner(s). A successful giveaway can gain you huge traction and if everything is done correctly, you can see a huge increase of followers in a very short period of time.
