How Trello Can Help Students to Organize Their Duties

No student will let me lie that 24 hours a day seems to be not enough to cope with all the duties that are set for them, which may even lead students to buy cheap essay help from online writing services. For some reason, each professor believes that their subject is the only one, so each of them loads you as if you had no other tasks. And what if you have work or you go to the gym? But you know what I want to tell you?

Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos – they all have 24 hours a day, like every one of us. But how can they have time for everything? They effectively manage their time. But what is it? In simple words, time management is the organization of time and increasing the efficiency of its use. Effective time management can help to fulfill all the duties on time, use free time to good use and more efficiently. There are a lot of ways to manage your time, various techniques and solutions, but since we live in the 21st century, I would like to tell you about the Trello app.

What is Trello?

In simple terms, Trello is nothing more than an online corkboard. Trello is based on the idea that to effectively manage projects or tasks, you need to visualize and see all the tasks assigned to you, and have sufficient flexibility to change their priority and order following your needs. The app has “cards,” which you can organize into lists; cards are notes, duties, files, or anything else you’d like to see on your board. When you visualize all the tasks assigned to you, it is much easier for you to understand the amount of work that you will need to do, which already greatly simplifies your task.

How can a student use Trello?

First of all, I want to say that the possibilities of Trello are practically unlimited, and it can be used both to increase your productivity and to distribute duties in teamwork, where the contribution of each student is essential.

Self-organization

When I was a student, I struggled to keep track of all the duties that I needed to complete, but when I did not write them down and visualize them on my physical corkboard (yes, then there wasn’t Trello and the like!), I could easily forget about some of them, and as a result, I had to do everything in a huge hurry, which undoubtedly negatively affected my performance in college.

Moreover, I had problems with setting priorities, I did not know what task I should begin to carry out first, and therefore I did nothing that also did not reflect very well on my achievements. But a separate Trello to-do board can help you organize all your duties, track and plan your workload, which will make you significantly more productive.

Even if you are an incredibly organized person and you have an excellent memory, Trello can be useful for you to return to your tasks. For example, you studied some new material, marked a task as completed, but after a few weeks or months, you need to refresh your memory or just for some reason return to the old task. Of course, you can iterate through dozens or even hundreds of files to find the one, or you can use Trello to remind yourself when you completed a task, which will help you find the right document much faster.

Multitasking

While studying in college, you get new duties every day, the deadline of which can vary significantly. For example, on Monday you received an assignment in one subject, which needed to be completed before next Monday, while on Tuesday you received a task that must be completed before Thursday. In the case of two tasks, it’s not hard to understand what needs to be done first and how to allocate time. But what if you get these tasks assignments daily and their volume is significantly different from each other? One project should be a single-page, while another project should be thirty-page.

The to-do list in Trello allows you to add new tasks daily and set deadlines, as well as prioritize them, which is very important to be able to complete all of them on time. When you see the list of tasks in front of you, you will understand that in reality there are not so many of them, and the time that you would spend on procrastination, since you did not know where to start, you would spend on work on these tasks.

Teamwork

I think you have had to work in teams in college more than once, and personally, very often I came across a situation that no one knew what role he or she was assigned to, what duties each member of the team had, and in general no one understood how the job should be organized. But now this process can be greatly simplified to a few clicks.

For example, you can use the Kanban methodology, which, in my opinion, is the most effective work management method, which is based on balancing needs with capacity. Each team member will be able to see the status of all tasks, as well as potential bottlenecks, and in which case they can help each other cope with the job. In general, Trello has almost unlimited possibilities and can be applied to almost any project both in personal life and in college and at work. Take advantage of its benefits, and remember, Elon Musk also has 24 hours a day.
