There’s a catch…
There’s no Instagram for computer app available that would make it as easy to upload photos and use the app’s filters on your PC or Mac just like on a smart phone. (at the moment)
Despite requests from some of its users for the ability to upload photos from their computers, there is no such feature available. According to Instagram, it is because they want to focus on making the app as good as it can be since Instagram since its launch always has been dedicated for smart phone use.

Because of the huge amount of requests and as Instagram is expanding in countries with slow and unreliable internet, Instagram has now made it possible for you to upload photos from Instagram’s website – but only with your smartphone. This is a way to encourage users in countries with bad internet to use the platform even if their internet doesn’t allow them to download the app.
How can you actually use this?
To be able to view your Instagram feed from your computer, you can use several different methods. You can use Instagram’s own website (Instagram.com)or a third-party Instagram viewer like Websta. These sites allow you to stay up-to-date with your feed but they do however not offer lots of features that you might wish to use such as Direct Message or the ability to upload new photos.
The easiest way you can use Instagram on a computer (doesn’t matter if it’s Mac or Windows) is to visit Instagram.com on your computer.
When you are on the website, log into your account.
As mentioned, this website does not let you upload new photos or access your Direct Messages, but you can however do the most basic which is view your feed, Like photos, comment, and edit your profile.
There’s a catch…
If you want to use Instagram just the way you use it on your smart phone, then you have to work a little bit harder than the solution listed above.
Okay, there are some work-arounds that you can do to use Instagram as normal through your computer but this however is pretty tricky to do if you aren’t a tech-guru or have some computer knowledge.
One solution is to install a special software program that is designed to simulate a mobile phone operating system on your computer.
This will allow you to run mobile apps since you´re tricking the app into thinking that you are using a mobile device while the fact is that you are on your computer.
